Jorge Alva has been making and designing one of a kind objects in precious metals for over 45 years. His work in silver includes handwrought holloware and utensils. He also designs and makes jewelry in high carat gold. Each design is unique and entirely hand crafted. Many of the objects are complemented by the use of precious and semi precious stones as well as by shells or other natural materials. His designs are influenced by natural forms and by historical and cultural references. Jorge has a BFA with honors from the Parsons School of Design. He has lived extensively in Europe and currently divides his time between New York, Miami and Paris where he also paints.
